Isabelle has ten years of counseling experience working with clients in Singapore and the United States. Isabelle graduated with a Doctorate of Philosophy in Counseling and Counselor Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a Masters in Counseling in dual tracks: Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling. Isabelle is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) in the United States, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), and Registered Clinical Counselor (CMSAC) with the Singapore Association of Counselling.
Isabelle’s specialties include EMDR and play therapy and effectively facilitates her two areas of expertise for clients of all ages. She is an Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)-certified therapist and an EMDR Consultant-In-Training. Isabelle is a Registered Play Therapist™ and works with children and teens (3 to 17 years), and adults.
Isabelle is a counselor educator and prepares counselor trainees through teaching and supervision. Isabelle has presented at international conferences and workshops on counseling and mental health. Additionally, she has published in international journals in counseling, trauma informed yoga, and social justice and advocacy. Isabelle sees clients in North Carolina and Singapore via telehealth.
Apart from being certified and licensed as a professional clinical mental health counselor with speciality training and credentials in both EMDR and play therapy, Isabelle keeps her clinical skills sharp through continuing education and receiving her own supervision and consultation. Her identity as a teacher-scholar-practitioner allows her to stay updated on advancements in the field and engage in reflective practice.
